Hi, I’m Karen.

I’m a multidisciplinary creative who believes creativity should feel human, grounding and a little nostalgic. I’ve spent years exploring how creativity can become a gentle anchor in a noisy world. I’m drawn to the meditative and restorative quality that exists in the process of making things.

My creative journey has taken many shapes over the years, but the thread running through all of it has been a desire to create work that feels grounding, intentional, and emotionally resonant. I’m inspired by the kind of creativity that soothes the nervous system, the kind that awakens our inner‑child. I love helping others rediscover that same sense of calm and curiosity in their own creative practice.

West of Matilda is my way of sharing that world with you: part tactile, part digital, often imperfect, always evolving. Whether I’m designing motifs, developing tactile art experiences, or guiding creative wellbeing practices, my goal is always the same: to offer a soft place for your creativity to land. A place where you can breathe, explore, and return to yourself through the simple, meaningful act of making.
